Airlie Beach Holidays
If you enjoy walking and hiking, the Whitsundays will agree perfectly for you. The Conway National Park has several walks with varying levels of difficulty and distance encountering the hilly parts only later in the walk. The Whitsunday Great Walk is a trail that spans over 28 kilometers, but you don’t have to walk the entire length of it to enjoy the views and experience of walking through the rainforest.
A local walk that will take a couple of hours to complete is the Honeyeater Lookout with views that favour the Cannonvale side of Airlie Beach. You’ll see some prime rainforest habitats with a lot of familiar Gum trees and Cycads on the walk, but at the saddle of the hill you won’t be miss the massive strangler fig tree. Try out the Mount Hayward and Jubilee Pocket Lookouts too if you are keen. These take you on slightly longer trails with views over Shute Harbour and the Whitsunday Islands.
Cedar Creek Falls is another Whitsundays attraction that is world famous. It is popular with locals and with visitors. The beautiful swimming hole is very refreshing on a hot summers day. It’s a 25 minute car journey from Airlie Beach. There is plenty of car parking once you get there and it’s an easy walk to the falls.
